Go, Sparky, Go!

We were fortunate enough to be invited across the street yesterday for a fire prevention presentation put on by the fire department for the elementary school kids. Ole noticed the big red fire engine as soon as we walked out the door and he pointed and made a run for it. First we filed into the school gymnasium for a talk on fire prevention. Sparky, the fire department mascot, was there along with firefighters in full regalia.
After reviewing the classics like Stop-Drop-and-Roll, the kids lined up outside for a chance to sit in the fire engine and shoot water from the fire hose.
Little Ole tried out the driver's seat
And was delighted to meet Sparky up close.
Here's Dale showing Ole the engine's many gizmos and doodads.
What a fun afternoon for a little boy just learning about fire engines! With a tip of his hat, he says, "Thank you, kindly".
