Ice and snow

We had a wonderful afternoon sledding up at Old Man Pass last week. It's a beautiful and remote spot north of Carson, Washington, with lots of snow!

He shoveled and shoveled for a long time, but never quite got the technique.
I spotted a man feeding camp robbers from his hand way across the parking lot and immediately sidled over. The guy was nice enough to share a few bits of his tortilla with me. With the gray jay in one hand and the camera in the other, I wasn't coordinated enough to smile as well, but I was thoroughly enjoying myself. Also, my hand is normal sized in real life.

Back at home, we were hit with another ice storm. We didn't really see it coming this time, but luckily the coffee supply held out for the four days we were stuck at home.

Alex hauling in firewood. Can't you just feel that cold wind?

Happy!
